Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has opened up on why she has chosen not to sign any artistes under her label despite many expectations.
In an interview with Forbes Africa, the award-winning singer revealed that managing artistes is too stressful, and she’s not ready to deal with the baggage that comes with it.
She said:
“Everyone always says to me, ‘when are you going to sign an artiste?’ I don’t think I have the gift to sign another artiste because artistes are stressful. I could just be sleeping, and then I will wake up and my artist is trending for something else.”
However, Tiwa Savage disclosed that her passion lies in helping young talents through other means, such as opening a music school to nurture upcoming artistes before they sign to labels.
The singer rose to stardom with her debut single ‘Kele Kele Love’ in 2010 and has remained one of Africa’s biggest female music exports.
