Popular Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has shared the story behind her dramatic decision to shave off her hair for a role in one of Muyiwa Ademola’s films.
During an interview on the Mr LilGaga YouTube channel, Toyin disclosed that she was deeply drawn to the script and wanted to fully embody her character, even if it meant letting go of her beloved natural hair.
“I Told Him to Call My Husband”
Explaining how it happened, Toyin said:
“When Muyiwa Ademola sent me the movie script, I loved it, and I asked him if I should shave off my hair to fit into the character. He told me he actually wanted to ask me to do it, but he didn’t know how to bring it up.”
Being a devoted actress, Toyin agreed to the transformation but insisted that her husband’s approval was necessary.
“I told him that I will shave my hair, but he should call my husband and seek permission from him.”
Even though her husband loves her natural hair, he understood her dedication to her craft and respects her working relationship with Muyiwa Ademola.
“Muyiwa Ademola called my husband to beg him to allow me to shave my hair. My husband said there was no problem and gave his approval.”
