Longtime pals Spencer Pratt and Brody Jenner may go way back to their teen years and The Hillsdays, but even strong bromances sometimes take a backseat to family obligations. That’s exactly what happened this past weekend when Spencer and wife Heidi Montag were noticeably absent from Brody’s wedding to pro surfer Tia Blanco.
Why Spencer Wasn’t There
Fans took to TikTok to ask Spencer why he missed Brody’s Malibu nuptials on Saturday, July 12, and he didn’t dodge the question. Instead, he cleared things up with a quick post showing himself dressed up with sons Gunner, 7, and Ryker, 2, writing:
“At Heidi’s sister’s wedding. Holly had her wedding same time.”
Yep — Heidi’s sister, Holly Montag, tied the knot the same day, creating an unavoidable schedule clash for the Pratts.
Still Showing Love to Brody
Despite missing the big day, Spencer kept things light-hearted. He posted aerial paparazzi shots of Brody and Tia’s beachside wedding to his Instagram Story and jokingly captioned them:
“@brodyjenner I didn’t call the helicopter.”
Brody responded with a string of laughing emojis, showing there’s no bad blood between the old friends.
Inside Brody and Tia’s Special Day
The wedding was an intimate affair held at Brody’s mother Linda Thompson’s home in Malibu. The couple’s 23-month-old daughter Honey played a sweet role in the celebration, including being fed wedding cake by her parents in one of the night’s most adorable moments.
Tia looked radiant in an off-the-shoulder lace gown, while Brody kept it classic in a tux. The reception featured a DJ set with an electronic playlist, giving guests plenty to dance to under the stars.
Prior to the big day, Tia was honored with a “bridal blessing” by her closest girlfriends. Sharing her gratitude on Instagram, she wrote:
“A truly special day I will never forget… I couldn’t have dreamed of a better bridal celebration.”
From Baby to Bridal: A Love Story
Brody and Tia’s love story has been one of milestones. The couple announced their pregnancy in January 2023, and during their baby shower, Brody surprised everyone — especially Tia — by getting down on one knee and proposing in front of family and friends.
While Spencer Pratt might’ve missed one of his best friend’s biggest days, it’s clear both families were wrapped in love — just in different zip codes. One wedding, two families, and lots of happy tears.
