Fresh off his Strictly Come Dancing win, Chris McCausland is taking on a brand-new challenge — quiz show host.
The 48-year-old comedian and TV star has been tapped to front the pilot of a new game show titled The Easiest Quiz Show In The World, currently in development by Richard Bacon’s production company, Yes Yes Media.
Though the title promises simplicity, there’s a twist.
Easy Questions, High Stakes
Sample questions reportedly include:
• “What day was it three days ago?”
• “Humans drink water, but what do cows drink?”
• “Name a red drink?”
• “What continent are you standing on?”
Sounds simple, right? But producers say the real challenge lies in the pressure and stakes:
“Every time anyone gets anything wrong… everyone loses everything.”
The format promises high tension despite the seemingly straightforward questions — combining humor, fast thinking, and collective risk.
From Comedy to Quizmaster
McCausland’s warm wit and natural charisma make him a perfect fit for the role. Known for his stand-up comedy and candid insights into living with blindness, Chris has built a loyal fanbase on stage and screen.
This marks another exciting chapter in his post-Strictly career, after deciding not to return for a second season of The Chris McCausland Show on ITV. The popular talk show wrapped after 11 episodes, with Chris opting to “pursue other opportunities” following a wave of offers since his Strictly win.
More Projects in the Works
In addition to the quiz show pilot, Chris is:
• Fronting a BBC Two documentary titled Seeing Into The Future, which explores the latest assistive technologies helping visually impaired individuals.
• Writing a memoir, due later this year. He teased fans back in January, saying:
“I thought ‘Strictly’ was terrifying but my book has a release date and I haven’t started writing it yet. Don’t worry, I’m going to start right now. It will be really funny, I promise.”
When and Where?
The pilot for The Easiest Quiz Show In The World is not for broadcast just yet, but it’s being filmed in London on Monday, July 28.
Free audience tickets are available via Standing Room Only, so fans can get a sneak peek before the show (hopefully) lands on screens.
McCausland’s next chapter is shaping up to be as unpredictable — and entertaining — as ever.
