Arsenal Secure Viktor Gyökeres Signing in €73.5M Deal from Sporting

Arsenal are set to officially announce the signing of Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting Lisbon, after reaching a full verbal agreement with the Portuguese side and the player.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on Tuesday with his signature “Here we go!” post, stating:

“Viktor Gyökeres to Arsenal, here we go! Verbal agreement in place between all parties involved.”

According to Romano, Sporting Lisbon have accepted Arsenal’s final bid of €63.5 million, with an additional €10 million in add-ons, taking the total package to €73.5 million. To help push the deal through, Gyökeres’ agent agreed to reduce his commission—a sign of how eager all parties were to get the move done.

The 27-year-old striker will sign a five-year contract with the North London club, marking one of Arsenal’s most high-profile additions this summer.

Gyökeres had a standout season in Portugal, attracting attention from several top European clubs, but he reportedly had eyes only for Arsenal.

“He only wanted Arsenal,” Romano revealed.

With personal terms settled and final paperwork underway, the Swedish international is now expected to undergo medicals and join up with Mikel Arteta’s squad ahead of the new season.

This transfer adds serious firepower to Arsenal’s attack, as they continue to strengthen in hopes of a title challenge and deep Champions League run.
