Lola Tung Wants Fans to Feel Every Beat of ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Finale

Lola Tung, the breakout star of Amazon Prime’s smash hit The Summer I Turned Pretty, is getting real about what she hopes fans will take away from the show’s third and final season, which premiered July 16, 2025.

As Isabel “Belly” Conklin, Tung has won hearts worldwide with her raw and relatable portrayal of a teenager navigating love, heartbreak, and self-discovery in Jenny Han’s beloved coming-of-age trilogy.

In an exclusive chat with E! News, Tung shared her biggest wish for fans: “I hope that they are satisfied with the story and the journey because I think Jenny did such a good job with it.” She acknowledged the emotional rollercoaster of the series’ love triangle between Belly and the Fisher brothers, Conrad and Jeremiah. “Everybody at some point throughout the show, throughout all three seasons, will be a little bit heartbroken. It’s just how it goes,” she admitted. “There is heartache that comes with love — especially big, complicated love stories.”

Still, Tung hopes viewers find joy in the romance, drama, and growth woven into the story. And while the Team Conrad vs. Team Jeremiah debate has lit up social media, she’s calling for kindness. Speaking to Teen Vogue, she reminded fans to be respectful, especially to new cast members, saying, “We’re human beings,” as she addressed the toll online scrutiny can take on actors.

With The Summer I Turned Pretty wrapping up, Tung hopes audiences walk away feeling inspired by Belly’s resilience and self-discovery — and that the show leaves a lasting, heartfelt mark long after the final credits roll.
