Lindsay Lohan is making sure her son never experiences the kind of paparazzi frenzy that haunted her younger years.
Speaking to The Times, the Freakier Friday star revealed she still has “extreme PTSD” from being relentlessly chased by photographers in her teens and early 20s, when she was often spotted alongside Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.
“I don’t ever want my family to experience being chased the way I was,” Lohan said. “They were terrifying moments in my life… it’s not safe, it’s not fair.”
Now living in Dubai with her husband Bader Shammas and their son Luai, the 38-year-old actress says the city offers the privacy, peace, and space she could never find in Los Angeles. In Dubai, paparazzi photos without consent are illegal — a stark contrast to Hollywood’s constant flashbulbs.
Lohan moved there in 2014, calling it a place “outside of the noise” where her family can live normally. She says social media has also helped celebrities reclaim their own narratives, something she wishes had existed during her rise to fame after The Parent Trap.
Back on the big screen in Freakier Friday with Jamie Lee Curtis and Chad Michael Murray, Lohan says her biggest priority now isn’t fame — it’s family and well-being.
