Christopher Nolan Named President of Directors Guild of America

Oscar-winning filmmaker Christopher Nolan has been elected as the new President of the Directors Guild of America (DGA). The DGA announced the news following its biennial national convention, where Nolan was elected by 167 delegates representing over 19,500 members. He succeeds Lesli Linka Glatter, who held the position for two terms.

In a statement, Nolan called the appointment “one of the greatest honors of my career.” He highlighted the “tremendous change” the industry is facing and expressed his eagerness to work with the newly elected board to protect the creative and economic rights of its members. The DGA’s new leadership comes as the guild prepares for its next round of contract negotiations in 2026.
