Jolie Addresses “Painful Events” Leading Up to Brad Pitt Divo

Angelina Jolie has offered a candid glimpse into the “painful events” that led to her divorce from Brad Pitt, detailing the emotional distress in a new court filing related to the former couple’s battle over the French winery, Château Miraval.

In the documents, the actress stated that the events leading to her need to separate were “emotionally difficult for me and our children.” She revealed that upon filing for divorce, she left Pitt control of their shared family homes, including Miraval, without compensation, hoping this would “make him calmer in his dealings with me after a difficult and traumatic period.”

Jolie added that neither she nor her children have returned to the Miraval property since the split, due to its connection to those Jolie Brad Pitt painful events. She also noted that she declined work for two years to focus on her children’s recovery and was financially strained, having to borrow money from Pitt to purchase a new home.

The revelations come as the long-running dispute over the Miraval estate continues, nearly a year after the actors finalized their divorce. The filing underscores the significant personal turmoil experienced by the family as they navigated the separation.
