Apple Original Films announced Friday that “F1,” the Brad Pitt Formula One racing drama, will make its global streaming debut on Apple TV+ on December 12, 2025, bringing the year’s highest-grossing original film to subscribers worldwide.
The Joseph Kosinski-directed F1 earned a massive $629 million at the global box office following its June theatrical release, making it the highest-grossing MPA movie of 2025 and Apple Original Films’ biggest success to date. Brad Pitt stars as retired racing legend Sonny Hayes who returns to mentor young hotshot driver Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris.
The streaming release comes six months after the film’s theatrical debut through Warner Bros. Pictures. The holiday date positions F1 for maximum viewership as families gather for December celebrations, capitalizing on the film’s broad appeal and critical acclaim throughout its theatrical run.
Apple TV+ subscribers gain access to the action-packed drama featuring real Formula One footage shot during actual Grand Prix races. The December 12 F1 debut represents a strategic move by Apple to close out 2025 with its most commercially successful original film available to stream globally.
