Digbeth Regeneration Next Phase Unveiled: 1,700 New Homes

The Digbeth Regeneration Next Phase was officially announced by West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker, revealing a massive new push to transform Birmingham’s historic industrial quarter into a global creative hub. The plan centers on two key projects, aiming to create new residential spaces and a powerhouse for the region’s burgeoning film and television industry.

The core of the new plan is the Warwick Bar Prospectus, which sets out a vision for a 22-football-pitch area with the potential for 1,700 new homes and 110,000 sq ft of creative workspace. This huge investment is complemented by Production Central WM, a new film office connecting global producers with local crews and suppliers.

This vision builds on previous success, including the relocation of the BBC to Digbeth’s Tea Factory and the launch of Steven Knight’s Digbeth Loc. Studios. The Mayor stated the goal is to make the Digbeth Regeneration Next Phase “bigger, better and bolder than Manchester’s Media City,” leveraging its central UK location and upcoming HS2 connectivity.

The announcement was made during the Regional Investment Summit, presenting the investment opportunities to developers and industry leaders. As the area continues its rapid transformation, this highly anticipated Digbeth Regeneration Next Phase promises a new era of growth, jobs, and creativity for the entire West Midlands region.
