Grand Egyptian Museum Finally Opens Doors
After two decades and an investment of over $1 billion, the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) officially opened its doors to the public near the Pyramids of Giza.

The museum, which had a grand ceremony on November 1, 2025, is the largest archaeological museum dedicated to a single civilization. It will house over 100,000 artifacts, including the complete, relocated collection of the famed King Tutankhamun for the first time since its discovery in 1922. The colossal statue of Ramesses II greets visitors in the main atrium.
