Diddy Prison Rehab RDAP Confirmed, Could Cut Sentence by Up to 12 Months

Sean “Diddy” Combs has successfully secured his bid to trim time off his 50-month federal prison sentence by enrolling in a coveted rehabilitation program. Recent reports confirm that the hip-hop mogul has been assigned to the Diddy Prison Rehab RDAP unit at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. The Residential Drug Abuse Program is the Bureau of Prisons’ most intensive treatment offering, and successful completion can lead to a reduction of up to 12 months from an inmate’s overall sentence.

Combs was transferred to the low-security Fort Dix facility on October 30, 2025, specifically following a plea from his legal team to the sentencing judge. His lawyers had urged the court to recommend the transfer, citing the need for Combs “to address drug abuse issues.” Before sentencing, Combs had claimed in a personal letter to the judge that he was sober for the first time in 25 years, underscoring his commitment to the rehabilitation effort.

According to prison documents obtained by CBS News on Monday, Combs is now an “active participant” in the intensive, nine-month treatment plan. His lawyer released a statement noting that the star is “fully engaged in his work, focused on growth, and committed to positive change.” The Diddy Prison Rehab RDAP assignment is a critical component of his strategy to shorten his incarceration, which follows his conviction on prostitution-related charges.

While Combs is also pursuing a fast-tracked appeal of his conviction, the Diddy Prison Rehab RDAP provides a more immediate route to an earlier release. His current projected release date is May 8, 2028, but if he earns the full credit from the program, alongside good behavior allowances, his final release date could potentially be pushed forward by several months, allowing him to return to his family sooner.
