The event, which aims to bring international attention to the country’s complex security and religious conflict issues, was reportedly arranged by an advisor to President Donald Trump. Minaj will appear alongside US Ambassador to the UN, Michael Waltz.
Minaj confirmed the opportunity on social media, expressing that she and her fanbase, the Barbz, would “never stand down in the face of injustice.” Her appearance follows her public support for the US administration’s stance on the issue, despite the Nigerian government’s insistence that the violence is rooted in crime and land disputes, not religious targeting.
