The Afrobeats world is buzzing with excitement following a massive announcement from global superstars Wizkid and Asake. The two Nigerian giants officially unveiled their upcoming collaborative project, an Extended Play (EP) titled REAL (Vol. 1), during an exclusive takeover session on Apple Music Radio. The project, the first full joint effort between the two, is set to be released before the end of December 2025.
Speaking on the radio show, Wizkid made the special announcement, stating: “Special announcement, 2025, Mr Money and Big Wiz project called Real drops this December for the people.” The project is widely seen as a fusion of Wizkid’s global Afropop sheen with Asake’s neo-Fuji street-pop sensibility, promising a body of work that will dominate the festive season playlists across the world.
The announcement was immediately followed by a teaser of one of the project’s tracks by DJ Tunes. The song, reportedly titled “Jogodo,” features Asake delivering his signature Yoruba vocals and infectious rhythms that blend effortlessly with the beat—a formula that has already proven successful with their previous collaborations, including the chart-topping hit “MMS” from Asake’s 2024 album, Lungu Boy.
The Wizkid Asake REAL EP is already sparking a frenzy on social media, with fans celebrating the union of two of the genre’s most dominant figures. This joint project highlights the potency of collaboration in driving Afrobeats further into the global mainstream, promising a fitting capstone to an already dominant year for both artists.
