Nigerian superstar Wizkid has once again made history, setting a new Spotify record with his recently released album Morayo. The project, which dropped on November 22, has already claimed the No. 1 spot on the Apple Music Nigeria Chart, with every track from the album dominating top positions.
The standout single, “Kese (Dance),” smashed records on Spotify Nigeria by earning 1.5 million streams on its opening day—the highest for any song in the region. Another track, “Piece of My Heart,” also achieved over 1 million streams within 24 hours, further cementing Wizkid’s dominance.
Morayo, which translates to “I see joy” in Yoruba, is a deeply personal tribute to Wizkid’s late mother, Juliana Balogun, who passed away in August 2023. The album features collaborations across diverse genres, showcasing Wizkid’s artistry and emotional depth.
