Drake Dominates Spotify: Most-Streamed Rapper Globally and in the U.S. for 2024”

Drake continues to reign supreme in the world of streaming as Spotify announces him as the most-streamed rapper globally and in the U.S. for 2024. The Canadian superstar lands at number four on Spotify’s list of top global artists, only trailing behind Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, and Bad Bunny. In the U.S., he ranks second, just behind Swift. This marks his eighth consecutive year as the top streaming artist in hip-hop, even though he didn’t release an album this year.

Drake’s dominance extends beyond streaming numbers. According to ChartData, he is also the best-selling rapper of 2024 by total album units sold. However, his latest achievement comes with a bit of controversy. Less than two weeks ago, Drake filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group and Spotify, accusing them of manipulating streaming numbers for Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” using bots and payola schemes. The lawsuit also includes accusations of defamation linked to the song’s controversial lyrics.

Despite the legal drama, Drake remains a powerhouse in both sales and streams, solidifying his position at the top of the hip-hop game.
