CAF Team of the Year: Osimhen and Lookman Shine, Two Super Eagles Players in Best XI

Two Super Eagles stars, Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, have earned their places in the prestigious CAF FIFPro Best XI, following standout performances throughout the year. Osimhen, who led the charge in attack, was joined by Lookman and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah to form an explosive forward trio in the 3-4-3 formation.

In goal, Manchester United’s Andre Onana was recognized as the top goalkeeper, edging out South Africa’s Ronwen Williams for the honor. The defensive lineup includes Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, Senegal’s Kalidou Koulibaly, and DR Congo’s Chancel Mbemba, while midfield is dominated by a mix of African stars like Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus, Morocco’s Sofyan Amrabat, Ivory Coast’s Franck Kessie, and Mali’s Yves Bissouma.

The women’s team also celebrated Nigerian excellence, with four Super Falcons — Michelle Alozie, Osinachi Ohale, Rasheedat Ajibade, and Asisat Oshoala — named to the CAF FIFPro Women’s Best XI. Despite her recognition as Africa’s Best Goalkeeper, Paris FC’s Chiamaka Nnadozie was notably absent from the Women’s Best XI.
