The cliffside La Jolla, California residence of Alicia Keys Swizz Beatz Home, known as the “Razor House,” is a true architectural wonder. The $20 million mansion, designed by Wallace E. Cunningham, is a masterpiece of curved glass, white concrete, and floating geometric planes.
The home’s dramatic, cantilevered design, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean, is rumored to have served as the inspiration for Tony Stark’s mansion in the Iron Man films. Swizz Beatz, an art enthusiast, had the razor house as his screensaver for eight years before the couple finally purchased it in 2019.

The property, which the couple affectionately calls “Dreamland,” is filled with their museum-worthy collection of over 1,000 artworks, including the largest private collection of photographs by Gordon Parks. The 11,000-square-foot abode features floor-to-ceiling glass, a circular living room, a gym, and a subterranean “grown-ups floor” with a recording studio and a garage for luxury cars.
Working with designer Kelly Behun, the couple softened the sleek, cold exterior with warm elements like Moroccan wool rugs and velvet upholstery, transforming the modernist sculpture into a welcoming family sanctuary for them and their children. The Alicia Keys Swizz Beatz Home stands as a major architectural and artistic statement.
