Aston Villa is preparing to compete with Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur for the signing of Malik Tillman, one of the standout talents in the Eredivisie this season. The 22-year-old PSV Eindhoven forward, who has impressed with eight goals and four assists in all competitions, has attracted attention from some of Europe’s top clubs.
According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Deutschland, both Villa and Spurs have made formal enquiries about the USA international. Tillman, formerly of Bayern Munich, is reportedly eager to make the move to the Premier League, and Villa manager Unai Emery could be keen to mold him into a key attacking player at Villa Park.
Tillman is under contract with PSV until next summer, with a release clause between €30-€40 million. Bayern Munich holds a buy-back clause and matching rights, but reports suggest they are not interested in bringing him back at this time. With his versatility in attack, Tillman could be a valuable addition for Villa, particularly if they face offers for key players like Ollie Watkins or Jhon Duran in the upcoming transfer windows.
