Bad Bunny Super Bowl Halftime Show Status Confirmed by Goodell

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has definitively shut down rumors and demands to remove Bad Bunny from the upcoming Super Bowl LX (2026) Halftime Show. Speaking at the NFL’s fall owners meeting, Goodell strongly reaffirmed the league’s commitment to the Puerto Rican superstar, calling him “one of the leading and most popular entertainers in the world.”

Goodell addressed the conservative backlash, which has been vocal since the late September announcement, stating the decision was “carefully thought through.” He noted that controversy is inevitable, saying, “I’m not sure we’ve ever selected an artist where we didn’t have some blowback or criticism.” The league is prioritizing the immense global appeal and entertainment value the artist brings.

The controversy has centered on the Spanish-language music and past political comments of the Grammy winner. However, Goodell stated the performance is expected to be an “exciting and united moment” for the hundreds of millions of people watching worldwide, emphasizing the cultural statement the league is making by featuring a global Latin artist.

By standing firm on the decision, the NFL is prioritizing cultural impact and diversity on its biggest stage. Bad Bunny Super Bowl Halftime performance is set to take place on February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, and will remain one of the most talked-about events leading up to the game.
