FC Barcelona has officially announced their long-awaited return to the Spotify Camp Nou, ending a two-and-a-half-year absence from their iconic home. The club confirmed on Monday that the La Liga match against Athletic Club, scheduled for Saturday, November 22, 2025, will be played at the partially redeveloped venue, marking an emotional homecoming for the Blaugrana.
The crucial decision was made after the club secured the first occupancy license covering Phase 1B of the renovation project from the City Council and La Liga. This approval allows the stadium to operate at a reduced capacity of 45,401 spectators, with access granted to the Lateral, Tribune, and South Goal sections.
During the construction period, Barcelona hosted their home matches at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. While the full renovation is not expected to be complete until 2026, the Barcelona Spotify Camp Nou Return is a major milestone. The club is now actively working with UEFA to gain approval to host their upcoming Champions League fixture there as well.
The Barcelona Spotify Camp Nou Return to the newly fitted venue signifies a major step forward for the club’s “Espai Barça” modernization program. The emotional return against Athletic Club is sure to be celebrated by fans who have waited patiently to see their team compete once again in their spiritual and newly modernized home.
