Breaking Barriers: Samuel Nwajagu Becomes First African to Win Mister International

Samuel Nwajagu, Nigeria’s pride and Mr. Nigeria 2024, has etched his name in history as the first African to win the prestigious Mister International title. This monumental achievement took place at the 16th edition of the global event held in Bangkok, Thailand. The competition saw 47 contestants, including debutants from nations like Cameroon, England, Benin Republic, and Mali, showcasing their charm, talent, and intelligence.

Throughout the event, participants embarked on exciting adventures, explored the city, and competed in segments that highlighted their cultural attire, physical fitness, and eloquence in tackling topical issues. Rising above fierce competition, Nwajagu secured the top spot, outshining Nguyễn Mạnh Lân of Vietnam and Glenn Victor Sutanto of Indonesia, who finished as finalists.

Nwajagu was crowned by 2023 winner Kim Thitisan Goodburn, marking a historic moment for Nigeria and the African continent. A proud son of Anambra State and graduate of the University of Port Harcourt, Nwajagu is not only a talented model but also a passionate advocate for fitness and wellness. His philosophy of “embracing a healthy life while unlocking your full potential” resonates with his remarkable journey.

Having won the Mr. International Nigeria title in July, which secured his spot in this global pageant, Samuel has now set a new benchmark for African representation on the world stage. His victory follows another groundbreaking achievement for Nigeria: Chioma Adetshina’s historic runner-up finish at Miss Universe 2024, making it a year of milestones for the country.

Samuel Nwajagu’s triumph is a testament to perseverance, talent, and the potential of African excellence. His groundbreaking win has not only brought pride to Nigeria but also opened doors for aspiring talents across the continent.
