Grime star Skepta has expressed his frustration with the current state of the UK music industry, describing it as “sad” and “segregated.” The ‘Big Smoke’ artist took to his X handle to share his thoughts, criticizing the industry as being dominated by cabals and marked by divisions.
Skepta, known as one of the pioneers of the UK Grime genre, wrote:
The UK music scene is sad. Smallest, most segregated, label run, crabs in a barrel scene of all scenes smh.
Skepta, born Joseph Junior Adenuga to Nigerian parents, has been a key figure in shaping the Grime scene in the UK, but his comments reflect disillusionment with how the industry is currently operating.
