Grammy-winning superstar, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has been named the biggest Nigerian artist of all time by Apple Music. In celebration of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day, the streaming platform unveiled its list of the top 10 most-streamed Nigerian artists and songs in its history, with Burna Boy securing the number one spot.
The ranking also includes major names like Wizkid, Davido, Rema, and Asake, reflecting the immense global reach of Afrobeats. Tems, Omah Lay, Fireboy DML, BNXN, and Olamide rounded out the top 10.
In addition to artist recognition, Rema’s Calm Down remix featuring Selena Gomez was crowned the most streamed Nigerian song ever on the platform, followed by Burna Boy’s Last Last and Wizkid’s Essence featuring Tems. Other hits like Free Mind by Tems, Ye by Burna Boy, and Come Closer by Wizkid featuring Drake also made the list.
Apple Music further highlighted the diverse cultural roots of Nigerian Afrobeats stars, shining a spotlight on artists like 2Baba from Jos, Omah Lay from Port Harcourt, and Seyi Vibez from Lagos.
