Busta Rhymes Gets His Flowers with Emotional Hollywood Walk of Fame Honor

It’s always heartwarming when a legend gets their due—and Busta Rhymes just received one of the most iconic honors in entertainment: a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Widely celebrated for his electric energy, unmistakable flow, and visually groundbreaking music videos, Busta has long been one of hip-hop’s most creative minds. From the zany visuals of “Gimme Some More” to the rapid-fire delivery of “Break Ya Neck,” he carved out a lane that no one else could duplicate. And while fans have always known his greatness, mainstream recognition hasn’t always matched his impact—until now.

At the ceremony, fellow rap giants LL Cool J, Big Daddy Kane, and Chuck D joined to salute Busta’s legacy. As he stepped up to speak, the emotion hit hard. “I worked so hard and I never asked for a shortcut, I never asked for a cheat code,” Busta said, fighting back tears. “I was never raised by a support system that made it seem okay to try to go around honestly earning your rite to passage.”

He took a moment to show special love to Chuck D, crediting the Public Enemy frontman for helping shape his early path. “Chuck, thank you for giving me my first shot… I say you gave me the name even though you say you presented it,” he shared, revealing that his name before becoming Busta Rhymeswas Chill-O-Skee.

Busta’s speech didn’t just look back—it looked ahead. He reflected on how those who poured into him helped mold his journey, and he acknowledged his new role as a mentor and guide. “I feel complete today. As we completed this chapter and started giving birth to a new one. I’m no longer Daniel-San in this sh*t, I’m Mr. Miyagi now.”

From his high-octane style to his unmatched stage presence, Busta Rhymes has always moved to the beat of his own drum—and now, he’s officially cemented his legacy where it belongs: on Hollywood Boulevard.
