Chadwick Boseman Hollywood Star Ceremony Confirmed for November 20

The extraordinary legacy of actor Chadwick Boseman will be permanently cemented in Hollywood history as he is set to receive a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The dedication ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, November 20, 2025, an emotional date for fans and industry colleagues alike. The star, designated the 2,828th, will honor the actor’s profound contributions to cinema in the Motion Pictures category, five years after his tragic death at age 43. 


The Chadwick Boseman Hollywood Star ceremony is expected to be a major event, featuring appearances and speeches from some of his closest collaborators. Black Panther director Ryan Coogler and his Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom co-star, Oscar-winner Viola Davis, are confirmed to deliver tributes. Boseman’s widow, Simone Ledward-Boseman, will formally accept the honor on behalf of the family, recognizing his powerful performances. 


The late actor built an iconic career portraying historic figures like Jackie Robinson in 42 and soul singer James Brown in Get on Up, before rising to global fame as King T’Challa in the MCU’s Black Panther. His final film role, as Levee Green in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, earned him a Golden Globe and an Academy Award nomination, showcasing his immense range and dedication to his craft. 


Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, stated that the organization is “deeply honored to celebrate Chadwick Boseman’s extraordinary legacy.” The Chadwick Boseman Hollywood Star serves as a permanent symbol of his enduring impact both on and off-screen, ensuring his powerful work continues to inspire generations worldwide long after the dedication ceremony next week.
