Cocomelon Netflix Controversy: Show Accused of Pushing “Woke” Agenda

Social Media Users Outraged Over Cocomelon’s Alleged “Woke” Agenda
Netflix’s popular toddler show Cocomelon Lane has sparked intense backlash on social media, with users accusing the series of pushing a “woke” transgender agenda after an episode featuring a boy dancing in a tutu went viral.

The Cocomelon Netflix controversy centers on a scene from Cocomelon Lane where a young boy, raised by two gay fathers, dances in a tiara and tutu while his parents encourage him to “just be himself.” The episode shows the child choosing feminine clothing over traditional boys’ attire during a song called “Just Be You.”

Conservative commentator Matt Walsh and others called for boycotts of Netflix, with some users comparing the situation to the Bud Light controversy. Elon Musk recently urged his 227 million X followers to cancel Netflix subscriptions “for the health of your kids,” claiming the streaming service pushes pro-transgender content at young children.

The Cocomelon Netflix controversy has divided social media, with critics arguing the content is inappropriate for toddlers aged 2 and up, while supporters defend the scene as promoting self-expression and acceptance. This isn’t the first time Cocomelon Lane has faced criticism for LGBTQ+ themes in children’s programming.
