Cole Palmer Out Six Weeks Groin Injury Maresca Confirms

Cole Palmer out six weeks with groin injury was confirmed by Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca on Friday . The 23-year-old forward hasn’t played a competitive match since September 20 when he was forced off against Manchester United. Maresca previously said he hoped Palmer would be available after the international break but admitted I was wrong unfortunately he needs to be out probably six more weeks.

Cole Palmer out six weeks means no surgery is required as Chelsea try to protect him as much as possible. The most important thing is when he comes back he is fully fit as the medical staff are not magicians. Palmer has made just three Premier League appearances this season and is running short of opportunities to impress England manager Thomas Tuchel before next summer’s World Cup .

Cole Palmer out six weeks will see him miss crucial fixtures against Nottingham Forest, Tottenham and Arsenal. He’ll also miss Champions League games against Ajax, Qarabag and Barcelona while being ruled out for England’s World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania . To replace Cole is difficult because he is a very important player for us probably one of the best in the Premier League.

Cole Palmer out six weeks creates a massive void for Chelsea as they navigate a packed fixture schedule. We don’t have another player like Cole because Cole is unique Maresca admitted. The injury represents a huge blow after Palmer’s sensational 25-goal debut season followed by 18 goals across all competitions in the trophy-laden campaign.
