Cristiano Ronaldo Hints at Retirement Plans: Al-Nassr Could Be His Final Club

Cristiano Ronaldo has opened up about his future in football, revealing that his time with Al-Nassr might mark the final chapter of his illustrious career. In an interview with Portuguese outlet NOW, the 39-year-old football icon hinted that retirement isn’t on the immediate horizon, even though his contract with the Saudi club is set to expire at the end of the season.

As Ronaldo approaches his 40th birthday in February, he shared his thoughts on the end of his career: “I don’t know if I will retire soon, in two or three years… but probably I will retire here at Al-Nassr.”

Expressing his contentment with his current club and surroundings, Ronaldo added, “I’m very happy at this club, I feel good in this country too. I’m happy to play in Saudi Arabia, and I want to continue.”

When asked about the timing of his eventual retirement from international football, Ronaldo kept his plans close to the vest, stating, “When I leave the national team, I won’t tell anyone in advance. It will be a very spontaneous decision on my part, but also a very well-thought-out one.”

Ronaldo also dismissed any thoughts of moving into coaching, saying, “At the moment, I’m not thinking about being a coach of the first team or any team. It doesn’t even cross my mind, I’ve never thought about it. I don’t see my future going through that.”

Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in January 2023 after parting ways with Manchester United, signing a deal reportedly worth £175 million per year. As his career winds down, the football world watches closely to see when and where the legendary player will choose to hang up his boots.
