Yoruba Nollywood star Dayo Amusa has finally addressed swirling rumors about her relationship with Fuji music legend King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (K1 De Ultimate).
In an interview on the Oyinmomo Official YouTube channel, Amusa dismissed claims that she shares a romantic connection with the musician, stating that their bond is purely platonic and built on mutual respect.
A Mentor, Not a Lover
Amusa clarified that K1 has always been a mentor, friend, and father figure to her, not a romantic partner. She criticized the common misconception that any close relationship between a man and a woman must be romantic, calling it a flawed perception.
She also expressed gratitude for K1’s support during difficult times, recalling how he comforted her when she least expected it.
“He is someone I deeply appreciate and respect, and such a person should be cherished,” she said.
How the Rumors Started
The actress explained that speculation intensified after K1 appeared in her movie. However, she wasn’t the one who invited him—a third party facilitated his involvement.
Amusa also pointed out that because she chooses not to publicize every aspect of her personal life, people often misinterpret her relationships.
With her statement, the actress hopes to put an end to the rumors and reaffirm her genuine admiration for K1 as a mentor and father figure.
