Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced Friday, October 4, 2025, to 50 months (4 years and 2 months) in federal prison after being convicted in July on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
Judge Arun Subramanian handed down the sentence at Manhattan federal court, explaining that a lengthy sentence was necessary for deterrence. The judge stated he was unconvinced that if Combs is released, these crimes won’t happen again. Diddy also received five years of supervised release and a $500,000 fine.
The sentence fell far short of prosecutors’ request for more than 11 years in prison but significantly exceeded the 14 months sought by Combs’ defense team. Six of Diddy’s seven children spoke on his behalf during the sentencing hearing, pleading for leniency.
Combs was acquitted of more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges during the July 2025 trial. The music mogul has been in federal custody since his September 2024 arrest and will receive credit for time served as he begins his prison sentence.
