Diddy Trial Update: Jury Reaches Verdicts on 4 of 5 Charges, Deadlocked on Racketeering Count

After nearly two months of shocking testimony and intense courtroom drama, the jury in Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ federal trial has finally returned verdicts on four of the five charges brought against the hip-hop mogul. But one major charge—racketeering conspiracy under the RICO Act—remains unresolved.

What Has Happened So Far

On Tuesday, 2 July 2025, at approximately 4:05 p.m. local time, the jury sent a note to the presiding judge stating:

“We have reached a verdict on counts two, three, four and five. We are unable to reach a verdict on count one as we have jurors with unpersuadable opinions on both sides.”

Count One – the unresolved charge – relates to racketeering conspiracy, the most serious allegation, involving the claim that Diddy ran a criminal enterprise under the RICO Act.

Charges the Jury Has Decided

The jury reached consensus on the following charges:

Count Two: Sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion

Count Three: Transportation for prostitution

Count Four & Five: Details not disclosed yet, but tied to sex trafficking and organized crime across three federal cases

Diddy, 55, founder of Bad Boy Records, has been pleading not guilty to all five charges and has denied any wrongdoing throughout the proceedings.

A Trial Marked by Tension

The trial began on 5 May 2025, with a highly scrutinized jury selection process aimed at removing bias. The final panel included 12 jurors and 6 alternates.

During the trial:

• One juror was dismissed over concerns about honesty

• An alternate stepped in to maintain a full jury

• Deliberations were briefly interrupted when concerns were raised about juror number 25’s ability to follow legal instructions

Despite this, the judge advised the jury to continue deliberations, emphasizing the importance of consensus and legal duty.

What Happens Next?

With the jury deadlocked on the racketeering conspiracy charge, both the prosecution and defensehave asked the judge to instruct the jurors to keep deliberating in hopes of reaching a verdict.

It remains unclear whether:

• The judge will declare a mistrial on count one

• The jurors will eventually reach an agreement

• A partial verdict will be announced soon for the other charges

What’s at Stake

If convicted on the agreed-upon charges, Combs could face decades in federal prison. The unresolved RICO charge could significantly increase that sentence if it leads to a conviction in the future.

This trial has been a turning point in Diddy’s decades-long career and public legacy. With partial verdicts reached and the racketeering charge still in limbo, all eyes are now on the next moves from the court.
