Dog the Bounty Hunter Mourns “Incomprehensible” Family Tragedy After Grandson’s Death

TV star Dog the Bounty Hunter and his wife Francie Chapman have been left heartbroken after a devastating family tragedy involving Francie’s son and grandson.

The 72-year-old reality icon — real name Duane Chapman — confirmed the unthinkable news: Francie’s 38-year-old son Gregory Zecca allegedly shot and killed his 13-year-old son Anthony in what’s being described as a tragic accident at a property in Naples, Florida, on Saturday (July 19).

In a deeply emotional statement shared with TMZ, Dog and Francie said:

“We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible, tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony.”

What Happened?

While details remain limited, authorities have confirmed no arrests have been made as investigations continue. The tragedy has shaken the Chapman family and fans alike, prompting an outpouring of condolences and support across social media.

A Family Tied by Loss and Resilience

Dog and Francie married in 2021, both having endured the pain of losing their previous spouses. Dog lost his beloved wife Beth Chapman to cancer in 2019, and Francie lost her husband Bob Frane in 2018.

Their shared grief brought them together in a powerful and healing way.

Francie once told Entertainment Tonight:

“We could cry with each other and talk about what we were feeling. We were able to walk alongside each other through the pain and heartbreak, and it brought us together in this amazing way.”

Despite moving forward with their lives, the couple has always honored the memory of Beth and Bob. Francie said:

“We’re never going to leave Bob and Beth behind or forget about them. They’ll always be a part of us.”

Now, that same strength and resilience are being tested again as they face the unimaginable loss of a young life.

The Chapman family has asked for privacy and prayers as they process the tragedy and mourn their grandson Anthony.
