Nigerian singer Fireboy DML has expressed deep admiration for veteran artist Wande Coal, crediting him for being a major influence on his music career.
In a recent episode of the Is This Seat Taken podcast, the Peru hitmaker opened up about his profound respect for Wande Coal, describing his first meeting with the legend as a “dream come true.”
Fireboy shared, “It was a dream at first meeting Wande Coal. I become a child when he is around. He is a legend. So that [meeting him] was a blessing and a surreal moment.”
The young star further emphasized how Wande Coal played a pivotal role in inspiring him to pursue music. In honor of this impact, Fireboy dedicated a heartfelt tribute to Wande Coal on his fourth studio album Adedamola, with a track titled Wande’s Song.
