Fireboy on Music Industry Drama: “Beef is Normal; We’re All Human”

Nigerian music sensation Fireboy, born Adedamola Oyinlola Adefolahan, has shared his thoughts on the ongoing feuds within the music industry. In a recent interview on City FM, the Peru hitmaker opened up about the reality of disputes among artists, stressing that these disagreements are just part of being human.

Beef is just part of life. We are all human

Fireboy stated, adding that people should let artists focus on their music and allow fans to enjoy the artistry. Addressing ongoing rivalries, like those involving Wizkid and Davido, Fireboy pointed out that he personally avoids the drama, preferring to stay focused on his music.

Fireboy also discussed his latest album, Adedamola, which features collaborations with music legends such as Lagbaja, Jon Batiste, Seun Kuti, and Spinall. The idea for working with icons like Lagbaja and Seun Kuti came from his mentor, Olamide, who produced the album.

While rivalries in the Nigerian music scene—like those between Davido and Burna Boy—are not new, Fireboy’s grounded take on the situation offers a refreshing perspective. He believes that these conflicts are just a natural part of the industry, where artists, like everyone else, are simply human.
