Frank Edoho Speaks on Mercy Chinwo’s Fallout with Eezee Tee

Renowned media personality Frank Edoho has weighed in on the ongoing dispute between gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and her former manager, Eezee Tee, shedding light on financial discrepancies and career roadblocks allegedly imposed on Chinwo.

During a segment on TVC, Edoho revealed that Mercy Chinwo’s decision not to renew her contractwith Eezee Tee’s label led to retaliatory actions, including blocking her from securing performance bookings.

“The label stopped giving her events after she declined to extend her contract. I saw all these things. It’s unfortunate that such actions have led to a situation where Mercy is not able to perform as she should be,” Edoho stated.

Shocking Financial Discrepancies

Edoho also disclosed shocking findings from an audit conducted by Mercy Chinwo’s team. According to him, a music distribution company, AfriCori, had reportedly paid $800,000 for Chinwo’s music royalties, yet only $90,000 reached her.

“I spoke to her husband, and we found out that some of her royalties were paid, but none of her songs are on her YouTube channel. They are still on the label’s channel, and Mercy hasn’t seen the backend to know how much revenue was generated.”

Further investigation by Chinwo’s team allegedly revealed that the reported earnings did not match her streaming numbers, prompting them to seek clarity from the label.

EFCC Gets Involved

The controversy reportedly escalated to the point where the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) intervened. Edoho explained that the label was initially not forthcoming about payments, leading Chinwo’s team to involve law enforcement.

“The EFCC asked the label to pay Mercy, and that was when the propaganda started. Some payments were eventually made in installments, but a substantial amount is still owed.”

Edoho also highlighted another critical issue, stating that Mercy’s music is featured on Qatar Airlines, yet she allegedly hasn’t received any publishing royalties from the deal.

What’s Next?

As the legal and financial battle unfolds, fans and industry stakeholders are watching closely. Neither Mercy Chinwo nor Eezee Tee has made an official statement addressing Edoho’s claims, but this situation raises concerns about artist-label relationships and financial transparency in the Nigerian music industry.
