Gene Deal, former bodyguard to Diddy, has been vocal about his past experiences, and in his latest interview with The Art Of Dialogue, he revisited the infamous 2000 shooting of 50 Cent.
The Night 50 Cent Was Shot
Deal recalled that he was with the BMF crew in Mexico when he received a call about 50 Cent being shot nine times and in the ICU. He claimed that 50’s manager reached out to him, seeking a way to speak with Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff, a well-known figure linked to the streets.
After calling 50 Cent’s phone, Deal eventually spoke to the rapper’s girlfriend, who confirmed that he was alive and stable.
Murder Inc.’s Alleged Involvement
While Deal admitted he didn’t know exactly who was behind the shooting, he claimed that Irv Gotti and his Murder Inc. crew were acting suspiciously before the attack.
“I don’t know who was behind it, bruh,” Deal said. “I know that Irv Gotti and them had put it out there like they was a part of it and they was going to do it that night… from their conversations and how they was acting. They had to have something to do with it. And then come to find out that the dudes who did it were working for Murder Inc.”
50 Cent Responds
50 Cent, who has a long history of feuding with Irv Gotti, took to Instagram to co-sign Gene Deal’s statement, sharing the interview and agreeing with what was said.
This comes after 50 Cent mocked Irv Gotti following his passing, which led to backlash from Joe Budden, who suggested 50 needs therapy for his ongoing grudges.
Diddy’s Legal Battle Continues
Meanwhile, Deal’s former boss, Diddy, is preparing for his federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial, scheduled to begin in May 2025. As more details emerge, the coming months will be critical in shaping the case against the music mogul.
