Halle Bailey is celebrating a major professional milestone, even as her personal life remains in the spotlight. The singer and actress just wrapped filming her new romantic comedy Italianna, co-starring Regé-Jean Page, and marked the occasion with a heartfelt Instagram post — sharing a carousel of moments from her two-month stay in Italy.
“Just wrapped my second film of the year,” she wrote. “My God is so good to me. Through every obstacle, every doubt, just keep going. Thank you to the beautiful people of Italy for making this another home for us. We will miss it so much.”
The photos included everything from stunning shots around Italy to sweet moments with her 19-month-old son, Halo — whom she shares with her ex, rapper DDG — and, of course, plenty of Italian food. But while her post was full of gratitude, Halle’s time abroad has been shadowed by an ongoing custody dispute that’s gotten increasingly messy.
Before filming began, DDG filed a legal motion to prevent Halle from taking Halo out of the U.S., accusing her of being a “flight risk.” This came just weeks after she was granted temporary custody of their son, following serious allegations that DDG had been physically and emotionally abusive — including a disturbing incident where she claims he slammed her head against a steering wheel, chipping her tooth. A judge denied his request, allowing Halle to travel with their child for the duration of the shoot.
The situation has played out publicly, with videos surfacing of DDG and his brother fighting a fan who heckled him, calling him “Doo Doo Garbage.” DDG has since filed for visitation rights while Halle was filming overseas and, in a recent online post, made headlines again after suggesting he’d consider a fertility clinic if he ever plans to have more children, saying it would “alleviate a lot of shit.”
Despite the legal drama, Halle seems to be moving forward. She was recently spotted relaxing on a yacht with a mystery man, looking carefree and unbothered. While the custody battle continues, one thing’s clear — Halle is staying focused, strong, and centered in both her career and motherhood.
