Talent manager Jada Pollock has expressed frustration over being labeled merely as “Wizkid’s baby mama,” urging recognition for her professional achievements beyond her personal relationship with the Afrobeat superstar.
In a recent interview with BET UK, Jada shared her challenges in navigating the public perception tied to her identity as the mother of Wizkid’s children. She recalled feeling undermined when her statement celebrating Afrobeat’s growth after Wizkid’s Grammy win was overshadowed by reductive headlines.
“When Wizkid won a Grammy, I wrote a statement about how far Afrobeat has come. They published the statement, and the caption was ‘Wizkid’s baby mama.’ The narrative does not recognize that you’re an entrepreneur and a hardworking businesswoman. I’m not only a mother but also a manager, and I’ve helped build a legacy,” she said.
Jada, who started dating Wizkid in 2014, has played a pivotal role in managing his career and nurturing the global rise of Afrobeat. The pair share two sons, Zion, born in 2017, and AJ, born in 2022.
Through her dedication and business acumen, Jada Pollock continues to advocate for her contributions to Wizkid’s success and the Afrobeat movement.
