Chidimma Adetshina, the 23-year-old first runner-up at the recent Miss Universe pageant, has revealed that she is not currently interested in pursuing a romantic relationship.
The South African-born Nigerian model shared this during an interview on Your View, where she addressed the wave of male attention that followed her meteoric rise to fame. Adetshina stated, “I am not looking for a relationship,” opting to keep further details about her personal life private despite swirling rumors of a possible romantic connection.
Adetshina’s journey has been nothing short of extraordinary, marked by resilience and triumph. Earlier this year, she experienced a divorce, citing ideological differences, and is now a devoted mother to her young child.
Her rise in the world of pageantry was not without hurdles. Born to a Nigerian father and a Mozambican mother, she faced significant backlash during her participation in the Miss South Africa pageant. The criticism regarding her nationality led to her withdrawal from the competition. However, her talent and determination caught the attention of the Silverbird Group, organizers of Miss Universe Nigeria, who invited her to compete.
Crowned Miss Universe Nigeria, Adetshina made history as the first Nigerian to achieve the first runner-up position at the global Miss Universe pageant. In November, she announced her decision to step away from pageantry to focus on new aspirations.
While she may be taking a break from the spotlight, Adetshina’s achievements and candid approach to life continue to inspire many.
