Iyabo Ojo Opens Up About Being Protective of Her Daughter Priscilla

Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo has shared how her personal childhood experiences shaped her protective parenting style with her daughter, Priscilla.

In a heartfelt interview with AY Comedian, the 46-year-old actress revealed that she became overprotective after surviving abuse as a child. Determined to shield Priscilla from similar experiences, Ojo admitted to being strict while raising her daughter, especially during her teenage years.

“After what I went through as a child, I didn’t want her to have to go through the same,” she explained. “It was important to me that someone—especially a female—was always with her when I couldn’t supervise her myself.”

Despite Priscilla’s occasional challenges to her mother’s rules, Ojo stood firm, insisting on providing guidance until she believed her daughter was mature enough to make independent decisions.

Reflecting on her journey, Iyabo Ojo noted that time and growth have helped her heal from her past, and she uses her strength to ensure those around her are protected. “You learn from your experiences, and you make sure others don’t go through what you did,” she added.

While their bond is often described as a friendship by fans, Ojo clarified that her parenting style always prioritized her daughter’s safety and growth.

The candid interview sheds light on the depth of their relationship and Ojo’s unwavering dedication to Priscilla’s well-being.
