Japanese Film ‘Two Seasons, Two Strangers’ Wins Golden Leopard at Locarno Festival

Sho Miyake’s Japanese film, “Two Seasons, Two Strangers” (original title “Tabi to Hibi”), has won the Golden Leopard, the top prize at the 78th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.

The film, which is based on two separate manga stories by Yoshiharu Tsuge, had its world premiere at the festival on August 15, 2025.

It is the fourth Japanese film to win the award since the festival began in 1946. Other awards included the Special Jury Prize for “White Snail” and Best Director for Abbas Fahdel’s “Tales of the Wounded Land.”
