Rap beefs rarely end with an apology, but JID is giving J. Cole his flowers for stepping back from the heated Kendrick Lamar–Drake feud. While many fans called Cole “weak” for bowing out after Kendrick dismissed the “big three” concept, JID sees it as a rare act of selflessness in an industry built on ego.
Speaking on The Joe Budden Podcast while promoting his new album God Does Like Ugly, the Dreamville rapper praised his label boss, saying Cole’s decision was “one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen in music.” For JID, it wasn’t about ducking smoke—it was about putting principles over pride.
To sweeten the revelation, JID also dropped a bombshell: he and Cole have a full, unreleased joint project. “Me and Cole got a body, a 15-track smoker… back and forth,” he revealed, adding they recorded it in New York. Whether it will ever see the light of day remains a mystery—but fans now know there’s a dream collab sitting in the vault.
