Jonathan Bailey Praises Scarlett Johansson as “Extraordinary” After Jurassic World Rebirth Experience

Jonathan Bailey has nothing but glowing words for Scarlett Johansson after working with her on the new blockbuster Jurassic World Rebirth. The Bridgerton and Wicked star described Scarlett as “extraordinary,” revealing that their time on set together was a true highlight of his career.

Speaking with Extra, the 37-year-old actor said, “She’s one of my favourite people I’ve met. She’s extraordinary.” Both actors star in the latest installment of the Jurassic World franchise, directed by Gareth Edwards and featuring a stellar cast that includes Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Ed Skrein.

Bailey, clearly thrilled to be part of the iconic dinosaur saga, shared that filming the action-packed project in exotic locations like Thailand came with unforgettable challenges — and rewards. “When you’re doing this, there’s nothing to complain about, like at all! You wanna feel the heat, you wanna feel like you’re about to pass out at points, but also… wading through the mangroves in Thailand with a film crew. It’s like…”

Scarlett Johansson echoed his sentiments but admitted the shoot wasn’t exactly smooth sailing. Filming in places like Malta and Thailand meant facing unpredictable environments. “We were thrown into such extraordinary circumstances physically,” she told People. “Half our set would wash away, then ten minutes later it would grow too large. There’s no continuity because the sun was moving in. It was just insane.”

One standout memory for Scarlett was standing in full costume during a camera test in Thailand — surrounded by mosquitoes. “I was like, ‘This is really happening,’” she laughed.

Another demanding scene had her dangling from a cliff in a double harness system. “You have a movie harness that looks like a harness, then you have an actual harness that’s hooked up to a line,” she explained. “I was happy to say goodbye to the harness!”

Despite the chaos and the physical toll, both Bailey and Johansson clearly enjoyed the ride — and their mutual respect only added to the chemistry they brought to Jurassic World Rebirth.
