Judge Dismisses Another Lawsuit Against Diddy Ahead of Trial

Another lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs has been dismissed by a judge, marking a small legal victory for the embattled music mogul ahead of his upcoming trial in May on trafficking-related charges.

On Monday, March 31United States District Court Judge Lewis J. Liman ruled to toss out a sexual assault lawsuit filed against Combs after the alleged victim, known as Jane Doerefused to disclose her real identity.

Why the Case Was Dismissed

The lawsuit, filed in October 2024, accused Combs of assaulting the woman at a party in 1995. However, Combs’ legal team objected to the case due to the lack of an identifiable plaintiff.

• The judge had given Jane Doe until March 20 to file under her real name or seek an extension.

• By March 31, she had failed to comply, leading to the dismissal.

Combs’ lawyers responded to the ruling, saying:

“This is now the second case brought by these attorneys against Mr. Combs that has been dismissed in its entirety. It will not be the last.”

A Pattern of Anonymous Lawsuits?

The dismissal follows another high-profile case where a lawsuit accusing Combs and Jay-Z of assaulting a 13-year-old girl was voluntarily dropped in February.

At the time, Jay-Z slammed the repeated use of anonymous accusers, calling it a “money grab” tactic:

“The system has failed. The courts must protect victims, OF COURSE, but they must also protect the innocent from being accused without a shred of evidence.”

Diddy’s Legal Battle Continues

Despite this small win, Combs remains in jail without bail on serious charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and prostitution-related offenses. His trial is scheduled to begin in May.
