Pop star returns from rehab, removes dollar sign from Twitter account
The dollar sign is gone, but the woman is
back. Kesha (not Ke$ha) has checked out of rehab after a two-month stay
and kicked off her new life by making a few changes on her Twitter
account.
She was photographed arriving
at Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday night wearing an “Ima
survivor” sweatshirt and rocking rainbow-coloured hair.

“Happy to be back! Feeling
healthy & working on tons of new music. I can’t thank my fans enough
for all the love & support u have given me,” the 27-year-old pop
star tweeted on Thursday on her newly renamed social media account. What
had for years been the self-deprecating @keshasuxx is now @KeshaRose,
and her name in the bio is spelled with a plain old “s” in the middle.
She’d previously posted a photo taken from an airplane seat. “life is beautiful. I’m so blessed to have u all,” the Timber and Tik Tok singer added shortly after. The singer’s rep confirmed to E! News that the online name makeover was for real.
Kesha had entered rehab in
early January, planning a 30-day stay for treatment of an eating
disorder at Timberline Knolls outside Chicago. That’s the same facility
where Demi Lovato overhauled her life starting at the end of 2010.

“I’m a
crusader for being yourself and loving yourself but I’ve found it hard
to practice,” Kesha said at the time on Facebook. “I’ll be unavailable
for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder … to
learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am.”

In early February, she extended her stay and cancelled tour dates in March and April, saying in a statement to People:
“I was so looking forward to performing at these dates but I need to
follow my doctor’s advice and get my health back on track.”

The magazine said Kesha’s
return from rehab was a surprise, even to people close to her, who had
“no timeline” for when she’d be done.
