Kevin Hart and John Cena are teaming up for The Leading Man, a Netflix action comedy adapted from the comic book series by Jeremy Haun and B. Clay Moore. The film follows a self-absorbed movie star (Cena) who discovers his co-star (Hart) is actually a secret agent, forcing the duo to work together to save the world.
Currently in early development, the movie is penned by Jon and Erich Hoeber. Hart and Cena will also serve as producers, alongside teams from Hartbeat, RK Films, and Ignition Productions. Hart is busy with other Netflix projects, including 72 Hours, while Cena recently wrapped Little Brotherand appears in Prime Video’s hit Heads of State.
Speaking on his career, Hart expressed a sense of duty to support the next generation of actors, saying it’s his goal to “kick open as many doors” as possible for emerging talent.
