Kirsten Dunst Open to Spider-Man 4 Return as Mary Jane With Kids

Actress Kirsten Dunst has expressed openness to reprising her role as Mary Jane Watson in a potential Spider-Man 4 alongside Tobey Maguire, with one specific condition: exploring the characters as parents.

“That would be cool, right? I feel like that is an interesting movie. Me and Tobey doing that again, but with kids,” Dunst shared in a recent interview. The Kirsten Dunst Spider-Man 4 comments come amid renewed chatter about director Sam Raimi potentially helming a fourth installment of the original trilogy.

Dunst starred as MJ, Peter Parker’s primary love interest, in all three of Raimi’s Spider-Man films from 2002 to 2007. Plans for a Spider-Man 4 were canceled in 2010, leaving fans wondering what could have been. Now, with Batman writer Mattson Tomlin pitching a version with Tobey Maguire’s Peter as a husband and father, the possibility feels more real.

The Kirsten Dunst Spider-Man 4 idea would close the unfinished arc between Peter Parker and Mary Jane, showing their relationship evolved into marriage and parenthood. With multiverse storytelling dominating Marvel films, bringing back the original Spider-Man cast has become increasingly plausible for nostalgic fans.
