Lawyer Pleads for Help as Speed Darlington’s Detention Drags On

Speed Darlington’s legal woes continue as his lawyer, Stan Alieke, has taken to social media to express frustration over the singer’s prolonged detention despite being granted bail by a high court.

In a video shared on Instagram, Alieke called out the Nigeria Police for allegedly ignoring the court’s order, leaving his client in custody for over a month. Addressing critics who claim Speed Darlington’s controversial behavior justifies his current predicament, the lawyer dismissed such arguments as baseless.

“Yesterday marked 31 days in detention,” Alieke lamented. “People are saying, ‘stop the emotional blackmail.’ But this could happen to anyone.”

He also highlighted the lack of support from influential figures, recalling a past incident where Burna Boy intervened to secure Speed Darlington’s release. “I’ve exhausted my connections; no one wants to help Speed Darlington. The first time he was arrested, Burna Boy showed up with his team and handed out bundles of cash to the police officers,” Alieke revealed.

The ongoing detention raises concerns about adherence to legal processes and the broader challenges individuals face in navigating Nigeria’s justice system.

Fans and followers continue to await updates on Speed Darlington’s fate, as his lawyer urges for compassion and support in resolving the situation.
